I think he is in a dispute with his agent over unpaid fees or something along those lines, so I would imagine he has been filtering his money elsewhere. Declaring himself bankrupt to get the agent off his case.

He isn't bankrupt, someone who is owed money has simply filed a bankruptcy order against him .... BIG difference.
I would suggest he disputes the debt, and hasn't acted fast enough on the court order, so it has been passed for the time being, but he'll get that overturned either by settling the debt or showing to the court that the debt is not genuine.
