Got this mail off me old man last night:

"Atilla is organising the above on Sun 9th Nov at concorde 2, says he has various bands lined up & some who are 'famous'!!! all profit to a Strummer fund for kids into music that Joes wife runs."

He said he'll keep me posted as I with you on here.

And in November I’m organising Joe Strummer Remembrance Sunday at Brighton’s Concorde 2 on Sunday 9th – a tribute to a man who inspired so many of us, with all profits going to the Strummerville charity set up by his wife to help disadvantaged kids who are keen to get involved in music. This will be an all day event with loads of bands, poets and a punk DJ and it will be a day to remember!
The reformed Blaggers AKA (formerly ITA), Barnstormer and hard hitting antifascists The Stage Bottles from Frankfurt are already confirmed and there will be many, many more including some who are ‘famous...’more info soon.

Yes, I thought it was the least I could do. It should be a wonderful day and the charity is a great idea. I am asking some of the old bands and the new local punk scene will have a space too. And hopefully we'll also be celebrating a thumbs up for Falmer and Sussex winning the County Championship (especially me since I have £20 on them at 33-1!)
