It really isn't rocket science. People wonder why the likes of Pedro, Trossard, Caicedo etc are treated with disdain while the likes of Gross and Macallister are treated with love.
It's because 'the next level' is obvious. It's just obvious. And if you are a good player it's going to happen anyway. But while you are here, with us, being made a millionaire, is it too much to ask for you to at least even feign the idea that you have some appreciation of it.
If they want the move, they get the move. TB doesn’t do the Levy or Parish thing of breaking verbal promises to players.
So just keep it private. No need for a summer of mouthy agent leaks through the media and Romano/Jacobs. Absolutely no need.

Not hugely impressed with some of the language from Igor in this.
I actually think it reflects worse on Igor than Pedro for me.
Pedro hasn't made any public comments etc. I can totally understand wanting to double my salary and play in Europe for one of the top clubs.
But Igor... He's basically putting the club he plays for down, talking us down whilst taking a huge salary and not having really shone here, whilst sharing a story on internal discussions and gossip about somebody else that frankly is none of his business.
This has really f***ed me off tbh. Show some gratitude and respect. And don't talk about others.

Mmmm, not a good look for Igor is it! Yes, I get that players not getting regular playing time is frustrating for them but they still get paid big money by Brighton and should show a bit more respect to the hand that feeds them, the very hand that gave them a chance in the Premier league.
All you can conclude from that is that a couple of chaps got your joke and liked it. You have no idea how many got it and rolled their eyes.

Before Igor's condemned, do we know whether his comments were made in Portuguese and have been translated into words he didn't necessarily mean? We've heard a lot of 'deserves to play at the highest level' type comments about players in the past which we all knew just meant 'deserves the wage packet and kudos that he'd get from one of the big money teams.'

I think players in general probably just assume that if they're interviewed in another language for a website/publication/whatever in another country that it somehow won't get back to the supporters in Britain. Or at least, they relax more and it doesn't occur to them.
