We've got replacements in for him already. Unlike you, we need to sell players and he wants out and, if we sell him, it means we can keep hold of some crucial players for another season.
Is he good? Hell, yes. 23yo. Brazil's number 9. Outstanding work rate. Outrageous skill, technique and movement. Sometimes a little selfish and slows the game down too much. He's no Isak but Isak's an utter gem. If you get him for anything short of £70m, you'll be happy.

He is a forward, not a striker. He can play No.9, No.10 and on the wing and do things that your man Isak can't in terms of playing the No.10 position. I'm talking passing and build up play.

He can hit a top level assist. Our equaliser against you in the cup demonstrates that but another one to watch is last season against Bournemouth with his weaker left foot. It's world class.

Hes 100% improved. He's been a top PL striker for 2 seasons having previously found it difficult with a shoddy watford.

Hes not a striker really. More like a 'forward'who plays across the attack and drifts all over the the place. I feel like that may slightly be to his detriment. And Brightons really, as when he's up top on his own we often miss a killer instinct in the box.

Loads of people love him, but, and it's a bit of an odd one, I've found it a bit hard to take to him. I personally feel like his game has stalled a bit, he's quite injury prone and rarely gets a long run. He seemed to take it upon himself to try and do everything himself and its quite frustrating to watch. Especially watching him have a strop when it doesn't work out.

His histrionics on the pitch are quite irritating. Totally OTT, diving when it's better to stay on his feet and spending too much time complaining when decisions don't go his way. And don't get me started on the cheerleading

On the upside he's a mega confident boy. Made the difference in a number of big games. Seems to demand a leadership role and is up for it, and has bags of ability. I think it could go either way for him. He might thrash around at a big club never quite making it and having a poor injury record or he might be one of those players who just blooms at the top and goes all the way.

Whatever the result it just doesn't feel that sad that he's going, and it's hard to avoid the reality that he's been a bit of a tit towards the end. I think his input can be replaced and despite knowing nothing about him before this season I'm glad it's him not Rutter.

First I'm hearing of this. Someone should look into that then.

Thanks for the replies. Remember Ben Foster always saying that he's some boy and going to be incredible player. Was never that impressed with him when we were in for him from Watford, so probably always had that view of him. See he's a good penalty taker (so is Isak), but 5 non penalty goals didn't jump out to me.

He'd defiantly receive a warm welcome to the club by our current Brazilians Bruno and Joelinton.

Can see that he's a similar profile to Isak, in that he's capable playing all across the front line and comfortable in wide position. Reading between the lines from sources of varying reputations, seems that Howe wants to play more of a 4-2-3-1/4-4-2 next year. Few months ago it was reported that we'd been tracking Gyokeres before he'd actually shot to prominence, and Howe thought he'd be best to get even more from Isak (Swedish connection I guess).

Regarding the fees being asked - no problem with clubs asking the moon on a stick from us - we'd do the same, to be expected and has to be factored into our recruitment. So far we've got far better value to quality in the players we've got from Europe. Whilst our recruitment has been near faultless all round - Tonali, Bruno, Isak, Botman have all been pound for pound incredible buys from Euro market. Why I've been reticent at thought of us spending out these big fees on Pedro or Elanga this summer, was same really with Gordon fee back in Jan 23.

Bound to be a few players that come into the PL this summer that become the next set of £50M, 70M, £100M transfers in 12-24 months. Be nice if we were in those recruitment markets rather than being blindly focused on whats on our doorstep. Like Bournemouth and you guys are doing I guess.

Whilst I'm sure (if he is tempted away this summer) the club will use any and all criteria to ensure as large a fee as possible, the bit I've highlighted is, er... generous in the extreme, isn't it.
The fact is, he's made one start and two sub appearances in 19 months for Brazil (in three different calendar years). I guess he's Brazil's number 9 in the sense that Jack Hinshelwood is Albion's no. 9 or Carlos Baleba is Albion's top central defender.

Hear what you’re saying, but whilst I do accept he would be a loss, we looked stronger without him in those last games.

Certainly not denying his contribution and undoubtedly ability, but I think Fab stumbled over a solution that made us better/stronger, particularly out of possession following his sending off.
