He’s a top quality player, unloved by some on here. His body language invites frustration, his posture often suggests sulkiness, I’ve said before he reminds me of Berbatov in that regard.

I think that hides his quality. He works bloody hard, and his quality as a penalty taker alone is enough to have other clubs interested. His all round play is better than he gets credit for, but I agree he can seem largely anonymous for 80+ minutes of any match.

Despite that, we will notice his absence when he’s gone. He is really effective when he does come to life.

Thanks and cheerio, Joao, especially for that Marseille goal. Not that bothered because I think we will be well stocked in his position(s) next season. Hope - and expect - we get top dollar for him.

Yep, I'm ambivalent to him going too. Decent player, thanks for the penalties, and looking forward to the top dollar we'll get. But seriously, when he goes I don't think we'll miss him. He'll be replaced by someone similar I think.

Plays better as a 10 IMHO. we have plenty of options there.

Seems like he doesn't want to be here so not that gutted if he does go.

Hopefully we can reinvest the money to a position we need strengthening.

Yeah the question is:
Has he gone or does he simply want to go?
If it’s the former I realy can’t imagine who has committed that kind of money pre the end of the season.

How many were pens though?

Saying that, I don't recall a better penalty taker in my many decades as an Albion fan, if anyone else does?

The one he took away in Marseille to make it 2-2, f**k me, the sound of their whistling was literally deafening.

He had ice in his veins.
That was one of the best moments I’ve witnessed in my 56 years of watching the Albion.

Talented player. Got everything to go to the top and I hope we realise this when we sell him! Unfortunately thinks he is too big for us and needs to play in a top team, bigger club. Because of this we are much better off without him ! We haven’t missed him!

Yet still got 10 goals and 6 assists this season in the PL.

He’ll be a massive loss. Chronically under rated player by Albion fans as gifted players like him quite often are. We’re much happier with a limited defender who appears to try hard - see our POTS history.

Unbelievable naivety displayed on here if anyone thinks a couple of greek kids and Evan fuckin Ferguson are going to replace a talent like that.
He’s scored one goal from open play since the end of November. As long as we can find a penalty taker from our wealth of attacking options, we can probably cope. He’s good but so are plenty of other players, as they’ve shown in his absence.

I've always said that if we had to sell one of our stars he would be my choice. However, I got told on Friday that he had personal problems and may not be available, so maybe hold on the pitchforks and burning torches for a bit and see what happens ???
To be fair, that would be an alternative explanation for his strange second half of the season. The Brentford red didn’t come as a huge surprise.
