Is it just me or do we always seem to overcomplicate things by going for (thus wasting time on) unrealistic targets like forster (even if he does come wages will be massive) constantine (wants to play in championship) when people like this are much more realistic and hungry players. He rejected huddersfield cause he wanted to stay around the london area so we wouldn't have been far from there...

well if he really wants to stay around the London area Brighton is actually a lot closer. Also we have a better squad in place and are more likely to be a competetive team next year pushing up the table. We are also desperate for a player of his ilk and he would fit in nicely. If we really do have the money to bring in players (fees/wages) then it would be nice to sign a striker.

We just always seem to go for players we never have a chance with or players from non league that we take a punt on, why not go for normal run of the mill 1 goal in 3/4 game strikers from league 1/2.

I think we have always been trying to bring in that one (striker) who is a star player (ie Turienzo) and taking a chance on him, rather than building a squad of decent players. This is what we must do this summer, add some depth and talent in all areas.
