Little bit surprised… thought it would be his team mate Abde Ezzazouli that we prioritised if we were going for a winger from Betis,

I like this player but I honestly believe it would be the best for him to stay at Betis for another season. He's still a work in progress with only 1.000 minutes of top flight football behind him and I don't think he's ready for a big move yet. "Only" 2 goals and 1 assist but he brings positive energy everytime on the pitch. Betis fans love him too as a homegrown kid.

Ofc people talk about Antony's impact but I think Jesus becoming a starter in January (immediately after being promoted) brought a spark to the Betis team that was in very poor form around that time (obviously Isco returning from an injury played a big role too). IIRC on form table for the last 6-7 games in December/start of January Betis was the worst team in La Liga. I remember this because almost at the same time Barca also was in a relegation zone form and I looked at those form tables. And soon after they were second best team (behind Barca) for the next 12-13 games before slowing down a bit end of the season again when they were concentrating more on the Conference League.

Obviously a very small sample size and as said above not a lot of end product yet (but that's to be expected from a 19 year old kid just making a breakthrough) but he's very involved, likes to take on the defenders and also hardworking defensively from what I've seen. Some good (defensive) stats to back that up but ofc lot of improvement needed in certain aspects of his game as well.

Just for comparision sake. I don't believe for a second that if you would sell Mitoma Jesus Rodriguez would come straight into the lineup as his replacement. If anything IF you end up signing him I think he would be a candidate for a loan. He needs to play regularly at this stage of his career to fullfil his potential.

I think you are going for a younger player with a higher ceilling. Abde has some solid traits that could be useful for any team but he's already close to his potential imo.

We'll see how Jesus will develop wherever he'll go but with Abde I don't think you would get anything more than a bench player if you were to sign him. Which for the right price ofc wouldn't be the worst thing but just not a productive player to step right into your lineup nor a high upside player for the future that Brighton is usually looking for.

As you can see stats wise they are very similar but ofc Abde more productive.

That said Abde only has 8 goals and 5 assist in almost 100 La Liga games, his best season so far was 22/23 on loan at Osasuna (4G+2A). This season he had 2G+3A though have to be said he massively underperformed his xG that was around 8 depending on which site you look at.

I think best thing would be to sign him then loan him back. That way, if he's not fluent in English, he can have lessons while still in his native country. He can then learn about the country before arriving, while also still improving and helping Betis.

100%. Big potential but not someone who's going to replace Mitoma in the here and now.

No idea how reliable this guy is but he says clause is actually 50m euros.

🟢🚨 Breaking news #RealBetis.

👉 Jesús Rodríguez would only leave Betis if his release clause is paid: 50 million.

▪️As of today, this is the club's idea, which sees Jesús as a player with a significant potential for growth. Especially considering the European Championship he will be playing in the coming weeks.

▪️According to what we're told, Jesús's entourage doesn't see Pellegrini as the ideal coach for the youth player. We'll see how it all turns out. He has offers, and more will follow soon.

BTW, for anyone interested to see him in action he will participate in the upcoming U21 Euro that starts tomorrow. Spain will play in the opening game against the hosts Slovakia.

With Yeremay Hernandez (Deportivo La Coruna talent who is linked with a 30m move to Como) out injured I think there are pretty good chances he'll be a starter or at least play a lot of minutes.

Yeah, I think Betis could accept this and it would be the best possible move for all parties.

Money would help them to maybe get some deal worked out for Antony as well (they will obviously never pay 40m that United is hoping for) although I believe he'll probably end up back with Ten Hag at Leverkusen after they sell Wirtz.

Assume that release clause also includes some gold, frankincense and myrrh

Not where I want
Only a prophet can foresee how any Messi-anic claims he makes if he joins us will alienate the pharisees in NSC ranks (and how any attempt he makes to rouse the Amex masses like his namesake João Pedro Junqueira de Jesus will end in derision).
