Jesus Christ, Division 2 is CRAP

Innit. We've played well in two or three games tops this season, yet we're still second.

It just rams home how f***ing awful this division is. Although we've already lost five games so far, the only team that have slightly impressed me were Swindon. They actually looked dangerous going forward and we were lucky to take a point from that game. The rest of the teams are pub sides.

I'm as pissed off as anyone after the last seven days but I honestly think that as soon as the new man is in and we get a bit of direction then we will walk this league.

Only 6,100 there yesterday. Looks like there's some people voting with their feet already. Not much call to see the same old lags going through the motions it would appear - that table's fooling no-one.

WE'RE NOT PLAYING TO THE STANDARD OF OUR PROMOTION WINNING SIDE. WE NEED A KICK UP THE ARSE. NEARLY ALL OF OUR DIV 1 PERFORMANCES WOULD SLAUGHTER DIV 2 SIDES.

LC1:eek:

I don't agree with you Brighton Rock. I didn't think div 1 last season was all that to be honest. If Coppell had been in at the start, I reckon we could have really competed. We tore Wolves apart, and beat Reading, Forest etc - all good sides. The bottom line is that we paid the price for that awful 14 game run, in the middle of which we even needed extra time to beat a side that got relegated out of the football league in the worthless.

Just goes to show how important a quality manager is. I agree with LC1, with the exception of that 14 game run.

This division is significantly worse than it was 2 years ago.

If we had played then, like we are playing now, we would be fighting relegation.

7 points separate sides 2 to 15 at the moment - I think that says it all.

I hear what you're saying about Albion's efforts last season, but I have to agree with BR.

From what I've seen this year, the quality of the football in the First is far, far higher than the quality in the Second. Our games this season have almost all been a joy to watch regardless of the results, purely because of the high standard of the football.

There are a few teams in the First who simply scrap for points, such as Bradford and Rotherham, but the vast majority of sides play really exciting football.

City having been struggling away in the lower divisions for the best part of the last 20 years, and the football has rarely been pretty. Indeed, last season in the Second was one of the most boring I can remember, despite the fact that we eventually got promoted.

The quality of the football I've been fortunate enough to witness so far this season has been immeasurably better - so much so that there have been occasions when I've felt like I've been watching a different sport to the one which I've been watching for the last couple of decades.

The 1st division this season is still very poor bar about 8 clubs or so,but there is not a lot between the 2nd division clubs as everyone is beating everyone.:)
