What so 26 goals in 60 odd games is not dangerous? Owen is still one of the most feared forwards in the game. The problem he will have is once his pace goes, he may drop out of football very quickly.

However I do suggest you go and learn about football, before making such dumb arsed comments.

yea you twat! lets go rate a player, where the majority of his goals were scored over 2years ago!

Is he lazy?

Does he seem like he's lost a bit of passion?

He is guranteed a spot a regardless of how he plays and thats not how a team should work! Defoe and rooney should be the starting line up! Owen should have to up his game! :salute:

OK Owens games for England since 2002, the number by the opposition is the goals he has scored in that game.

I make that 13 goals in 31 games. Not too bad really.

*munch munch* That's the sound of myself and a few other NSC posters eating humble pie over Defoe. No so much about the current Defoe v Owen v Smith v Vassell argument but because we used to maintain that there was nothing to choose between him and Zamora!

Comments after England U-21 games spring to mind.

Fact is that Owen and Rooney are Englands first choice pairing and that is how it should be.

Defoe has become useful back up but one game does not prove that he's got what it takes.

Exactly. Defoe will probably end up like Fowler, a quality player, but limited by those in front of him, for Fowler is was Shearer and Sheringham, then Owen came through. For Defoe and it is currently Owen and Rooney and Cole will probably knock him down the pecking order.

is it just me, or doesnt anyonelse see owen just doesnt look hungry for goals at the moment! Kep him on the bench for a bit when rooney is back and defoe proves himself some more and then owen will start to play better! Its human nature that if ur guranteed something without trying, your not gonna giv ur 100%!
