Catcher in the Rye is the only book I read for GSCE and still re-read some 15 years later. Can't read it now for a good few years though don't want to be accused of jumping on the bandwagon.

Bearing in mind when it was written it is quite amazing it still has relevance today, just wish Chapman hadn't been reading it when he was nicked after shooting John Lennon

Weird - I was flicking through CITR in a charity shop yesterday. Wonder if it wouldn't have long disappeared into the annals of pulp(ish) fiction by now if it hadn't been for Mark Chapman.
