He didn't, i thought he was well off the pace, but he should still be given a chance to settle.

Battipiedi didn't play particularly badly or do much wrong, he just didn't have a clue where he was supposed to be on the pitch or what his role was, he really seemed to have no idea. Smith when he came on clearly understood this and supported the front two well, often dropping just behind Murray & Barnes, this then allowed them to get into the game more and BOOM everything started clicking and the game was won. Don't think it was a good idea from Gus to start with the Argy based on that evidence.

Snith is an ideal man to have on the bench, not consistently good enough to start but adds something from the bench.
