No playing contract please. His salary is exhorbitant by all reports and I'd rather we used the money on players who can play.

I've no problem giving him a coaching contract on normal coaches salary if the club think he's the right bloke

Yeah basically this. He’s not going to be able to play much anymore.

Seems odd, considering, there hasn't been a single positive update on his ability to come back after a seemingly innocuous injury. 8 months ago
Can only assume the prognosis is better than I had assumed.

Can only see the point of extending his playing contract if we make Europe this season.
His experience will be useful for that, but if not we have more than enough cover in CM, which is the only position he would warrant .

Bloom has been in favour of boot room of ex pros who add experience to the club. This is something other clubs have been moving away from but Tony has been bucking that trend. James experience and professionalism would be invaluable at our club in any capacity.
