Anyone else concerned about a back 5 that have these 4 in.....

I know there isnt a lot of choice...

however surely Micah Richards is a better option

Brown is a Champions League winner, not sure why everyone thinks he's shit, given that he played virtually every game last season. Oh, and won the Premier League too.

ive always thought Brown was shit but he does seem to have got good this last few months, stopped making stupid errors and looks more assured.

Brown falls into the same category as Gary Neville, people give them a hard time because they play for Man Utd...but they very rarely let either club or country down.

They are all better than Vitali Kutuzov and Alexandre Hleb so I wouldnt worry too much.

A draw is a good result away from home, and I think that back line is good enough to earn it.

A win would be ideal as it gives us scope to f*** up away to Ukraine or Croatia

Quite the reverse, he's only where he is because he plays for Utd.
Stick him in another team, and he would be shown up for what he is, toilet.
You are never going to get a hard time, if their left winger has more than half an eye on Ronaldo.

As for your last comment, I can only assume I'm still dreaming.

But hey, as I found out on Saturday, I'm in the minority here, concerning Brown.
Fingers crossed I'm wrong (won't be the first time), sadly he'll need more than a blinder against Belarus before I'm apologising for my opinion.

Never thought I would say this... but Brown should start at centreback for England against Belarus:

James

Johnson, Brown, Ferdinand, Bridge

Walcott, Lampard, Barry, Gerrard,

Rooney, Crouch

I prefer Crouch to Heskey, but that's just me I think. I'm worried that our left-back has only played 7 minutes of Premiership football this season. I would choose Barry at left-back if we had Hargreaves or Carrick in the squad to play holding midfield.

I think Lescott is a waste of time in the squad, as is Jenas. Should have selected Owen & another holding midfielder.

Brown's been a lot better than Cole since Capello took over. The only other options are Johnson who isn't as good as Brown and Richards who's a centre-back and looks a bit lost when playing right-back when he's expected to defend

I prefer Brown to Upson at centre half it has to be said.
Brown is ok.....no more than that.
There are probably 6 better english centre halfs though !

Johnson Brown Ferdinand Bridge.

Looks very error prone to me along with the keeper.

Brown, Richards, Ferdinand, Bridge.

How Micah Richards is not in the team I do not know

Richards is injured.

He would be my first choice at RB, but I don't think Brown is anywhere near as bad as some make out. He played more than any other for Man U last season and they didn't do too badly did they? I would choose him just ahead of Johnson who I have seen play very well but also very poorly. I don't know what to make of him yet.

I am a little concerned about Upson as he did have a few dodgy moments in the first half against Kaz. Not a fan of Lescott.

I disagree with every single word of that. Sorry.

Brown is okay, he's a solid right back. However judging on Saturday (I don't watch Premiership football any more except for the odd MotD), once he gets the ball he doesn't know what to do with it. He's certainly nowhere near as good as Gary Neville. I think he's suffered from Ferguson's insistence that he's really a CB... when he broke in to the Man Utd team at RB he looked excellent, but he's never really convinced at CB. Had he spent the last 5 years training at RB he'd probably be really good by now...

the problem with Brown is that he was blatantly making way too many errors per game and still getting in the England side....and doing it there aswell. Reluctantly I have to agree he has got better in the past year but like James is prone to one stupid error that could easily cost us a goal.
