Been to Jamaica, Barbados and St Lucia.
Order of preference, St Lucia, Barbados and then Jamaica.

I've done the same three. My wife has done a few more.

My order would be Jamaica, St Lucia and then Barbados. Largely I think because Barbados is now struggling post the hurricanes there a few years ago and beaches aren't great now. Also food an drink prices are extreme.

St Lucia was okay. But the beach where I stayed, on the north of the island so the Atlantic Coast ish part weren't that great and the locals I found to be quite surly

Jamaica view may well be influenced by where I've stayed. Jewel runaway Bay is a great family resort and the staff are superb. When out and about I've always found the locals there to be relaxed and friendly. Also the beaches and views are superb

Went with the wife and family to Ocho Rios about 10 years ago and loved it.

It depends whether you're going to stick inside a 5 star complex or mix a bit. We did the latter.

The negatives

Initially got a lot of hassle from the taxi drivers which was annoying but eventually they left you alone or you got used to it. However we picked one guy and he took us to some brilliant places.

We were told not to stray from the beaten path to much. One day we entered a park and accidentally exited from the wrong place. We then experienced what can be termed as threatening behaviour. Fortunately nothing came of it.

Positives

Superb food. One restaurant we went to off the beaten track was pretty quiet then an old rasta (who we found out later was one of Bob Marley's crew) started singing Bob Marley tunes with the percussion section being him kicking the wooden bar where the drinks were served.

We managed to get a local unofficial trip up Dunn's River Falls at the end of the day which meant we were virtually taken up on our own.

We went up into the hills and floated down the river from the top in rubber rings which was safe and brilliant.

All in all if you're into reggae and that vibe you'll love it but there's a fine line to tread between seeing the real Jamaica and staying safe.
