From a reliable source.

Newcastle United are sending a scout down to the game tommorrow to watch Jake and Dean Ashton

Shame Ashton is out injured. Hope as a one off Jake has a poor game if selected

Wouldn't be a one off as his last few performances have been poor.

I cannot see this to be honest. I can see them sending one down to look at ashton but not jake. He is not that good.

he's not premiership material, Newcastle are just desperate for strikers incase their beloved two get injured!

I think Jake IS that good, but it will take him a while to develop into the kind of player that Newcastle would be interested in.

Patience fella's, patience.

Jake will make it, hes still very young and physically will mature.

Why would Newcastle send a scout to see Ashton, hes hardly an unknown is he?

And as Jake will be on the bench might be a wasted visit!

Its been known since Wednesday that Ashton won't play, Jake has been off his game in his last 2 starts, but he's more likely to get us a goal than CKR.

What has he done to really suggest that?

He has come on a lot in the last 12 months, but the last few games he was not involved at all.

Needs to be able to pull off that little bit of magic even when it is not going his way and he has not been able to do that.

He is talented, but whether he is as good as NSC thinks is debatable.

Not while sat on the bench he's not.

He's obviously good but people hype him up like he's the Sussex Maradona.

I have my doubts over whether Newcastle are interested.

Agree totally...seems to be too much Jake hype on NSC

Been dissapointed with last couple of games after the way he was playing. He's young and will benefit for his run in the team. He'll come again !
