Has been playing consistently at L2 so a drop down two divisions should make him a heavyweight....

and there is his problem... just too small and too slight to be a striker. With lumbering huge defenders like Matt Lawrence who dont bother running with you they just barrel through you, Jake might find this harder than L2.

He's 26 - not a youngster any more. At that age you have either achieved your peak or are on the slippery slope downwards cf a certain Mr Knight of blessed memory.

Whitehawk is hardly an upwards move for any one of his pedigree

Would have been a decent player if he had two strong feet, the Aldershot fans quite liked him,UP THE SHOTS,RISE FROM THE ASHES ONCE AGAIN:moo:

A player from a higher level should be too cute for those you mention.

Its a bit of an urban myth that the lower you go the more physical it becomes, it just becomes less skilled and clumsy, a higher grade player should find it easier although sometimes not quite as fulfilling.

Thats a seriously shit move for him, clearly not rated by anyone in the football league.

Jake Robinson, fixing a boiler near you soon!

Jokes aside, Im sure hes going to be on a wedge and if he does well next season he could be snapped up into league football again, still a bit of a risk as Whitehawk arent pro and it will be tough for him to keep fit.

Thats a bit unfair on Matt Lawrence - always struck me as being fairly skillful.

have they not changed their name then? thought they were brighton city? - cant say im complaining as brighton city is a stupid name

They applied for a name change after the deadline apparently, so they couldn't get it for this season, instead it will be next season.

Brighton City is an okay name. Perhaps we could set up some sort of partnership and give them some of our youth/reserve players on loan from now on, it's a decent level and for a 17/18 year old trying to break through it would only help things. Harlequins have a similar sort of thing with Worthing RFC, we had 3 or 4 youth Harlequin youngens in our squad last season.

That would be a good idea provided we had the first choice of any possible signings if they wish to sell or have a player with great potential.

Spent first half of last season at Luton ( now one div above Whitehawk). Pretty disappointing in my brother's view and released after making little impression. Time to really dig in to turn his career round?

Brighton objected to the name change.

re Matt lawrence - Dont get me wrong aboslutely class fro Whitehawk last season it seems and still a great player AT THIS LEVEL... has lsowed a lot though.

re: Brighton City: understand BHA blocked the name change and now the plans have been indefinately shelved. Good in my opinion. Whitehawk rapidly becoming my third team (after the Quarterboys), providing they keep the name.

I saw Jake play against Havant & Waterlooville on Tuesday night, very impressive performance by him, scored a cracker and stood out as probably the best player on the park.

If they had any sense, they'd change the name to the Brighton Whitehawks. You know, like the Washington Redskins, but less offensive to racial minorities.
