Jake Robinson signed until 2006

Saw on Seagulls World an interview with Martin Hinchelwood who says Jake is on contract (scolarship) until 2006 and so we'd be compensated if anyone came in for him.

Whats the story here, whats the real difference between these scholarship contracts and one that a full pro would be on?

All players leaving under age of 24 we would be compensated for under the Bosman ruling.

He can be signed up by another club at the end of his scholarship, just the same as Leon Knight can be at the end of his contract.

I think people are worried he may be tempted away by a bigger club. One that may, for example, buy his dad a new car this year.

Why is it called the Bosman ruling? the name sounds odd.
