Bit of a come down for a player who thought that he was too good to play for us by all accounts.

I never got that impression...

I always thought he was decent for us but obviously the gaffer thought otherwise and that's why he's playing in the conference !

Haven't seen Jake even on the bench so far this season. Is it a cup game? Maybe he only gets in the team for the Johnson's Paint thingy. Pity. I always thought he had potential. Obviously I was wrong!

Robinson's position, as well as perhaps being a reflection of his true talent, is an indication of how far we've come as a club. I seem to remember, when he was 17, the clamour to make sure the club had him under contract, as he was viewed as such an asset. Now he's just made his first appearance of the season for Northampton, in the JPT, and Forster-Caskey, another youth product and a better player than Robinson will ever be, has had to be loaned out to get him some games.

Good luck to Robbo, though - he's scored goals wherever he's been so I don't really understand why he hasn't been getting a look-in at Sixfields.

Edit: It seems both sides put a pretty strong side out in this one - Bullard played for Franchise and has sunk even further than Robinson. Over 1300 Franchise fans at this one - bloody hell. Doesn't tally with my memories of that competition.

I think that there is a good possibility that George Barker will follow the Jake Robinson route especially now that Gus has brought in more players and looks like bringing in even more and as a result as he drops down the pecking order.

In fairness to Jake you wouldn't expect him to get many starts with Ady Boothroyd as the manager more likely Akinfewa and route one.

Can't see Robinson playing in the football league for much longer. Seems to be a bit too lightweight, and lack of ability to make up for that, to be good at League 2. Aidy Boothroyd doesn't rate him anymore, as he hasn't even been on the bench this season (iirc.) Maybe appear at Whitehawk before long ?

Jake is "available for transfer" along with one other so I presume that is why he hasn't featured in the league team. Probably a bit of a "luxury player" for Boothroyd what with not being utter toilet but 6ft 5.
