Is his merely to add competition to the u23's? Not the sort of move we usually make if that's the case, or do we have a vested interest in seeing how he does, with a view to signing him permanently in the summer or something?

Chelsea must be praying he’s not going to be Lamptey mkII.

If so they’ll never do business with us again.

It's a completely different situation though. Wakely is out of contract with the Blues in the summer, and there is no indication that they have offered him an extension. His future lies elsewhere.

He played two matches on trial for the Leicester City U-23s in December, so he's simply trying to find a club.

What's the problem? We will be paying either all or part of his not excessive (by footballers' standards) wages for five months, after which he'll be out of contract - we can offer him one, or not if we don't want to; nothing for us to lose.
And our U23s are a bit lightweight or over-young this season. Makes sense.

Where did I say there was a problem?
