That bloody great field where they've dumped all the chalk is just begging to be a car park!

Only if they scale the hotel down a bit.

Way out West
I've said it before - those gaps in the corner look so BIG!

All part of the masterplan....once filled they will increase the capacity quite significantly, and it won't cost that much. The design does not lend itself to going UP (for obvious reasons, and the probability of getting planning permission to increase the external elevations is no doubt very low), but filling in the corners will be simple. This is not just a stadium for the next 5 years, it's designed to facilitate Premiership football at some stage in the future. It may look slightly odd in the meantime, but we will get over that!

The gaps are a little odd, but thats a bit like saying Angelina Jolie has an ugly little toe...

Anyway, in the webcam pics they dont look nearly so big (bear in mind the west stand will come down a lot farther when finished:

I really don't get bored of these pictures! Every time I see them I get a shiver down my spine!

I suggest sending the club "welcome to your new home" cards when re finally move in would be pretty amusing several hundred cards turning up for the new postie to deliver on his first few trips there...

Wow!

great job you guys - what are you going to do with your time when it's finished?

Those gaps are going to result in some serious piss-taking from visiting supporters though along the lines of "£90 million and it's not even finished" and "did you run out of money" - I can hear the chants now "it's only half a stadium" - they do look HUGE!

Does anyone know how they are going to be treated cosmetically to stop us from becoming a laughing stock?

Taking the piss shirely? Unless it's only half full nobody will be taking the piss

The gaps don't look that bad. We have planning permission for a set amount of seats. Would people rather we packed them all into a smaller shell and not left room for expansion?

I've said it before - those gaps in the corner look so BIG!

They will be filled in with Metallica's PA system in time for their summer 2012 residency. They plan to use Falmer as their warm-up gigs for Glastonbury and Reading.

Should give the landlord of the Swan something to moan to the Argus about ..........

Great pics thank you.

The corners looked a little odd even in the original drawings and artists impressions. But clearly this is a two stage process. As people have said, we should be pleased that the corners are so large - it means we can add more seats in due course.

Scoreboards and creative use fo dried flowers will disguise the lack of coherence until we are able to expand and add the extra seats.

A stadium like that and you think we'll be a laughing stock???? Unbelievable.

We'll be the envy of most, and the empty corners are totally insignificant compared to the laughing stock that is Withdean!

For a moment there I thought people were actually COMPLAINING about gaps at Falmer, but then realised that no one could possibly be that stupid or detached from what we've put up with for 13 years.

Truely astounding.

"oh but what if the bigger boys from the other clubs come down and laugh at the gaps"

Tell them to Piss off back to there crumbling shit hole or ikea identi-kit stadium.
