So we find a new place to build....more time/money into that. What if there is only ONE other possible option and that means a public inquiry all over again for that area...then what? We cant have Falmer because there would be a viable other site....we cant have that until we go through all this shit again!

Thats what I'm thinking right now!

I think that is about the size of it!

The big question is how long? I have heard (on here so prob. not true) that the inquiry will re-convene withing 4 months and assuming that it lasts say two weeks and then allowing for JP to make his decsion i would guess decsion would be announced early next year.

If it yes then including time for tenders, contracts and construction i would guess that we would start the 2007/2008 season there.

If no then the planning application for the new site could add a year to this date, therefore 2008/2009

There wouldn't have to be another enquiry would there?

Prescott says we can build at Falmer unless there is somewhere MORE suitable.

i'm sure prescott wouldn't put us through this shit twice-
if a second site went to enquiry, i'm sure he'd just say "yes" straight away-
or would he:(

yeah there could be surely? The other sites listed may or may not need an enquiry and my concern is that one of those gets listed and we go through it all again.

Yes agree that either way we get a stadium but i'm not 100% convinced its Falmer just yet.

hes basically said thta we will get a stadium - its just a case of where and if theres a more suitable site. so if there is, he will let us build it there

The new site would not need a public inquiry as the objectors to all of the other sites will be given the opportunity to put forward their case at the reconvened inquiry

Th club have spent years looking into the other sites. We will get Falmer.

It's not as if Knight and Perry want a stadium at Falmer for the view.

I trust that they have EXHAUSTIVELY researched every possible site. They are not mugs.

I reckon Prescott knows it too. Sounds to me like he went for the best possible way of getting a stadium in Brighton in the quickest way.

Take that politician back to the stable.....and give it a kiss

Could the club afford another planning application, regardless of whether it went to a public enquiry or not. This one has cost millions, where will the money come from. The way I see it, its Falmer or no-where...

The way I am seeing it is that if another site is more suitable then that would be proved at this INQUIRY?

I do believe this is - as I suspect it will prove to be - a victory for the most determined fans in the country. The campaign for Falmer must have played a huge part in making Prescott look long and hard at the application and go against what the inspectors recommended. This is a victory for fan power - and we should all be very proud.

The other site would be proved at this INquiry, but I just worry about how much it would cost to put together another planinng application, even if it should be easier to get it through and with no need for the inquiry.
