My futile search for all things Farrington, sent me on a Tiltman quest.

The following shocking revelations were that

He was described by name (with other Albion stalwarts) as part of the 'Greatest' Littlehampton team ..

"The Littlehampton team of 1984 was excellent, we had Steve Piper, Richard Tiltman, and Kevin Keehan. "

(all they need is to add Farrington to this and I would place a fiver each way on promotion.

More shocking though is this write up from and East Grinstead Town v's Worthing Utd match in 2001/02

"But with a minute remaining Paul O'Sullivan's through ball left Scott Woolley appealing vainly for offside and Richard Tiltman ghosted into acres of space and rounded Scott Kenward before steering the equaliser into an empty net."

Ghosting, open net, steering - not words I would have used to describe the boy Tiltman.

I have to say though, I know I do laugh at the poor form of the players mentioned, I can only envy them having pulled on the stripes and played at the Goldstone (well ran out of the tunnel on match day anyway..)

Staffs Gull, let me have a go:

"Richard Tiltman was often seen at the Goldstone Ground, ghosting as a footballer, he developed an unkanny knack of steering the ball away from any open net that presented itself before him"
