Out of interest, is there an independant company that does all football highlights? In other words, company 'A' will put together MotD along with ITV. I ask as whoever does the ITV highlights can only have a few matches to do each month with both cups but no EPL games. Editing Corrie with days of prep time is nothing like football and 30 minuts deadline.
ps The Albions highlights package is obviously very biased!
There are tv production companies who specialise in Sport who do this for the variety of broadcasters (BBC, ITV, Sky, Amazon, BT, Premier, Channel 4) that put out highlights of domestic but also European/World football but it depends. MOTD is done in house by BBC Sport. ITV own the rights to the Football League and have a highlights programme for that every week - not sure who makes it - and midweek when there's a full round of matches as well as the Carabao Cup and Football Trophy. Thats a lot of highlights for ITV.

The clips provided online last night showed more of the build up for Mitoma's goal. What led them to think 'Let's cut off a couple seconds there to help the run time' when it was a lovely passing move that led to a goal.
I watched the YouTube highlights now which obviously shows a lot more. Still missing some of the initial patient passing for the Mitoma goal before we ripped through Arsenal!! What a lovely finish though!

The BBC make Match of the Day. IMG make EFL highlights. Sunset + Vine make a lot of the BT Sport content. There are fairly small core staff teams on each and a lot of the same freelancers who work across them all (although less often with the BBC shows).

Not worth a new thread so I’ll put it here.

I think I am turning into an entitled fan. I decided to watch the United vs Villa game, as I am interested in how Villa play, but 25 mins in and I am struggling to watch.

Absolute shite in comparison to what I am used to watching, I’ll hang in there for a bit longer

No doubt Villa won’t be as bad as they’ve been so far on Sunday. I am guessing this must be the reserves?

I actually expect us to blow them away, have never felt like this before a game. I might go on Brighton tv and throw a wobbly if we don’t win well. We should be beating teams like Villa :lolol:

As I said, now entitled

Edit - given up this is unwatchable

I didn't realise the games in this round were actually being shown on TV. Wasn't there a big fuss about them not being available anywhere - including a bizarre rant from the AFTV dude about being denied dodgy streams of it? 🤣
