It started getting cool yesterday and today is fecking freezing, with a cold wind off the North Sea .... more like mid October than September!

North East Kent update:

Overcast, with frequent heavy rainfall. Strong winds, with occasional 60mph gusts. Temperature mild.

Hope it's better by the time I hit the motorway tonight...

Crawley update

popped into town, usual pikey scum frequenting the shopping centre, nipped into HMV and procured a few albums

wind - bouffant damaging, outlook, windswept, Like Rod Stewart after a game of football

rain - none, just a light sprinkle of sweat from a fat bloke as I walked past the bakery

cloud - plenty, white fluffy ones and big gung-ho dark ones

outlook - stupid program on my computer that keeps crashing

Not I dont mind you asking!!

I lay pre cast concrete block and beam flooring on new Houses, flats etc.

As we are doing a job on a first floor today it involves a 60 ton Crane set up next to the Building and as it is so windy it isnt safe for him to pick up the beams and swing them round to us as there is a chance he could basically kill us in this wind as he would be unable to contol his crane jib with the wind gusting at 47knots !

Also we are working down The Willowhayne Estate in East Preston right on the seafront and it is blowing a hoolie down there today:eek:

CHarlies shin pad . . . .theyre doing a load of that in Shoreham at the moment as well, I didnt think the wind would play that much of a part seeing as theyre pretty darn heavy anyway

obviously you dont want a crane driver with the jitters either

I used to work down Black Lion Street (Lloyds TSB, Moore House).
How I yearn for my lunch hours and Friday nights in The Lanes. Some decent scoff at Gars, followed by a drunken frenzy in The Black Lion, or Smugglers, or Cricketers, or the Druids, or the Market, or O'Neills, or Old Orleans, or the Pump House, or the Bath Arms, or the Font & Firkin.

*sniff*

happy days.

Thats the problem tho, when you have 3 tons of concrete beam swinging towards you and no way of getting out of the way, where do you go!!
