Anti-fascist demonstrators and right wing protetsters have clashed with police near a mosque in Harrow, north-west London.

Rocks were thrown at officers wearing riot gear and there were a number of skirmishes in the area between the Harrow Central Mosque and Harrow and Wealdstone tube station.

The trouble began when around 1,600 anti-fascists turned up at the site - where a new five-floor mosque is under construction.

The Stop Islamification Of Europe group had received permission to hold a two hour protest there.

The Unite Against Fascism group also organised a demonstration in response to show solidarity for the mosque.

Some then clashed with the Metropolitan Police after trying to chase off around a dozen SIOE supporters.

There was further trouble when a group of around 250 Asian youths throwing rocks and sticks and pushing a wheelie bin later tried to charge officers.

Police say that seven people have been arrested for possession of offensive weapons.

They will soon have chips on their bins in Harrow, so the Council will be able to spot the Asian Youths with satellite wheelie bin spotting equipment.
They will even be able to tell how much the youth weighs.

Talking of wheelie bins, anyone on here remember at Southend, first game of the season 2000-01, when one was launched 'at' the Southend fans?

I say 'at' because it got no-where near them and seemed at the time alot of wasted effort to get said bin up and over the barrier

The Danes have been very anti for a long time. Having lived there, their liberalism does not extend to the erosion of a culture they are very proud of, or even multi culturalism in the British sense. Not saying its right or wrong, just an observation.

They have a record against Nazi antisemetism to be proud of, no colonial history (the Faroese, Icelanders, Norwegians or Greenlanders might argue but..) to beat themselves up about, but are very conscious of the changes going on in Europe right now.

Its a dilemma that people in Sussex villages dismiss far to easily. People in rural Southern Jutland discussed it frankly, like they discussed kids not getting up the duff all the time, sexual health so not everyone is riddled with STDs and everyone is too repressed to talk about it, and people are not moaning about paying income tax so they could buy a 40" TV or a shopping holiday to Dubai, to give their old folk some dignity.

If the Danes think its an issue its worth listening to. That's all I am saying.

Higham,having taken alook at Lord/Bs link i reckon this will grow ? It could well get hi-jacked however i do beleive alot of UK residents (of which a fair few are non-white) are deeply concerned over Islam.
