I that is not in the good spirit of any sport,

I think that's the crux of the issue. It certainly wasn't the sporting thing to do, but to be honest I think very few sports are 'sporting' any more. Even cricket. How many times do you see batsmen not walking when they know they've knicked it? How many times do you hear bowlers making wild claims for a wicket?

As I said, I think the Italian was looking for the penalty and the defender was foolish enough to go to ground and give him the perfect chance to fall over.

thats a load of cockjuggling wank splatter

the Itie left him on the floor ( left), flicked the ball past ( right), then as soon as he saw a covering defender approaching and realised he wasn't going to get a clean shot in he threw himself over the defender to the floor, deliberately, I'd seriously question whether it was even obstruction. the guys a cheating Italian Bastard.

I'd suggest England players adopt exactly the same tactics on Saturday if they don;t want to be checking in at Munchen airport Sat night

Wow, that Itie did an awful lot of thinking and consideration in a split second!
Even if you are right, the cheating Aussie took away his chance to score, without getting the ball, and he gave him an excuse to dive.
All culminating in a deserved penalty for Italy. Gooooooooooooal !!

Not a pen, and all the funnier for it. Having heard more Aussies than I care to remember spout the 'as long as we go further than the Poms' line, f*** 'em.

Few finer sights in world sport than disappointed Australian fans for an English audience, surely?

Absolutely! We were in the FANFEST in Cologne watching this game... and the Aussies there were giving it large (well actually they only have one chant Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi Oi Oi)... it was fantastic when the penalty was given and scored!

Ohne Australian fahren wir nach Berlin!

Yes. Neill slid for the ball, missed, and impeded Grosso.

Impeded Grosso from what? There is no way a defender (or a stiker for that matter) could score from that angle. The cut-back was not an option either considering the number of Aussie's that piled into the box - one of them would have cleared it.

NO PEN.

Remember Giggs scoring from that angle in an FA cup semi against Arsenal.

Also Shearer after an indirect freekick given due to a backpass at Wembly playing for England.

But to be frank, I STILL CAN;T BELEIVE WE'RE GOING ON ABOUT IT.

GIVE IT A f***ing REST:angry:

It's done, dusted. Nothing can be changed.
