It's modern football fans. I'm not sure how old the OP is but I'm guessing about 16. Nowadays it's always win win win. If your club isn't always moving upwards, if it occasionally reaches a bit of a plateau and seems to stall, or worst if it slips DOWN the table then everything is shit, the manager needs to be sacked, players need to be brought in regardless of any criteria (such as suitability or price), and the chairman must 'do something'.

A sense of perspective went out of the window a long time ago, probably about the time people stopped caring about the FA Cup.

We're in a position I could only dream of a couple of years ago. And before that I didnt even have those dreams. Div one safety was good enough for me.

I'm lucky enough to have seen the successful teams but it didnt happen overnight and this time we seem to have got people in the important places who have a plan.

Almost certainly armchair supporting Chelsea/Man U/ Liverpool/Arsenal and along comes Gus walks league 1 and then goes and takes us top of the Championship.
