on holiday in Menorca, there was an oirish pub down the way, which we frequented a few times.

there was a bloke with his guitar doing the old diddly eye eye and every other word was feck.

As in......" Oi you talkin whilst I am singing...feck off"

It was actually very funny but is it acceptable?

My understanding is that "Feck" is used a lot in Ireland as a milder version of the F word!


Like some people used to say "Flip" over here.



I first heard it a fair few years ago, I'm sure it was prior to Father Ted.

Completely acceptable, even the teachers use it here.

It wasn't invented by Father Ted, remember that show even had its own fake curse, Fup (as used at the deckchair place)
