An Arsenal supporting friend of mine wants him sacked, and to be fair I can see why.

6 years of winning f*** all, the only time they're associated with top level players is when they're on their way out of the door to clubs who are actually likely to win sometyhing....ridiculous for a supposed big club. All that Wenger has done for years is to buy kids and keep spinning the line that "in a few years" it'll all be fine. Patience among their fans is starting to run out apparently, not through lack of gratitude for the good times he has undoubtedly brought them, but just through frustration of being left further and further behind every season.

has to win something (excluding Carling Cup) or possibly 2nd. its incredible to think for about the 3rd or 4th year us armchair pundits will say he needs a quality keeper, Center Back and leader in the middle, yet he doesnt even look at such signings. Chamberlain for £10m? Cahill should have been brought the day the window opened and he should be looking for a second. Parker should be there too, of course he's no where as good as Fabregas/nasri, but he wont go missing on winter away games up north. but he's blinded to his "project", which is fast running off course.

Seems to be panning out rather better than predicted....maybe we should take note that a few iffy performances aren't really that much to worry about. Gus seems to have ridden a few weeks of doubt and be turning the corner too.

Wenger got stuck in a rut and the 8-2 defeat shocked him out of it.

It does indeed. I'm glad. Got a lot of respect for Wenger and how he tries to play the game.

For the last couple of seasons I have predicted Arsenal getting dumped out of Champs league, before it starts.
Followed by a couple of very bad results, leaving Wenger no where to go but out of the managers chair.

I see no reason (other than the fact it hasn't happened yet!) to change this thinking, for this season.
This season won't stop me from spouting the same bollox, next year

You've got admire the way he's stuck at it, when even the most ardent Gooner has echoed the sentiment, above.
