[I was guilty of that myself yesterday evening starting to talk about Bobby Zamora and ended up talking about how much red wine you can buy in Calais. [/B][/QUOTE]

Guilty of this as well and can confirm I assisted - was far more interesting tham BZ though.

:p :p :p

Twickers, try the Seagulls mailing list. That's mostly Albion related - and, whisper it, quite dull really (tip: save time by avoiding messages by a bloke called Dr Mike Curtis).

You'll find details at http://www.seagulls.org.uk/.

For dull read 'Adult'.

Thankfully it isn't full of garbage from the likes of Dwayne, FG, et al.

With some of the cliquey bollox spouted on here the mailing list can be a welcome refuge for anybody over 21.

What makes NSC unique is that it is site for Albion fans, rather than a site about the Albion period.

There is a finite amount you can say on a Sunday about the beloved stripes, and some of us (and we know who we are) do spend a tad too much time on NSC, so invariably drift off topic. NSC is not the poorer for this, in fact it is quite revealing about the contributors state of mental health.

Nice one guys. Just asking the question. Interesting range of responses, some of them a little defensive, some of them very valid. As I said, like the fans who stand with their back to the game singing to the crowd is not for me, but doesn't stop me attending the match. After all, is this not about opinions and the diversity of views?

I accept fully that the audience here does not necessarily come for non-football related topics as well. However, beware. There is a risk with forums becoming so obsessed with the smaller hard core community they forget the objectives of the forum and the wider community at large. The risk there is you find you lose your main objective and subsequently a key audience fundamental to the original aims and before you know it a NSC II appears.

Secondly, if you are in the business of attracting sponsorship and online advertising revenues you need to be more insightful. Having dealt with a number of online revenue streams I can tell you it is now common for client to receive refunds where adbnormal click thru rates were detected on site advertising and the turnover of advertisers high where the demographic of the online community was not what is was professed to be.

Whatever you learn from this question, NEVER tell your community or a contributing member to piss off, except perhaps non-constructive/destructive constributors. You'll pay a severe price in reputation and loyalty if you let yourself believe an online prescence is anything more than community or the sum of its parts. I don't think it was meant, but I never want to see that again. This is much better than that. Keep it up, keep it Albion.

Crumbs, thats all a bit Off Topic innit?

Up the Albion.
