Have you noticed they closed the coffee shop and paper selling operation there

Yup, outrageous, isn't it. That station is just crying out for a Tesco Express, especially since 'Unwins Food And Wine' became 'Threshers Eight Cans For A Fiver And A Bag Of Peanuts If You're Lucky'. If it weren't for Mr. Shah, the Hasina Tandoori and Harley's Pizzas a man could starve to death round these parts.

You look well nourished to me young man.

Off topic, but I did see a Lewes Taxi this evening with the following no plate.

S1 4 LDC

He also had a Seagulls sticker in the back window.

I wonder if we have more friends in the Lewes area than we think.

Also, listening to some of the gossip at work, many live in the Lewes area. It would seem that the council have somewhat shot themselves in the foot with asking a family in Peacehaven to take down a Wendy House. That with the realisation that the photos were misleading in the latest press release form Lewes Council to where the proposed ground will be seems to have angered some of the Peacehaven residents that I have spoken to.

Hopefully the Seagulls Party will split the vote. Victory can be ours.

Poor sod! De Vecchi will probably now try and take his Hackney/Mini cab licence away!

seagulls party only needs to win 6 seats I believe for Lib Dems to lose overall control - are about 9 wards - most wards elect either 2 or 3 councilors - thus 1 seagulls party candidate standing in each ward with loads of campaigning would at best get us 9 seats

can't remember how many seats in total on council but think Lib Dems have 27 and once down to 21 seats they are not in control

discussed above in detail with Lord B on a thread several months ago - about Feb or Mar this year I think?

Maybe we could symbolically put the giant flag there as a photo-opportunity over the Summer?

Surely if you want a photo-opportunity, it would be better to plant your flag, in some industrial wasteland, and just pretend it is the actual site?

Every time we expose the lies and deceit from LDC, every time we post a picture of the true nature of the *ahem* AONB, every time a Falmer Parish Councillor speaks, every time we sing 'We Want Falmer', every time we mach on the Party Conferences, we gain more and more of the initiative.

You think? I do admire your optimism. But personally I think the only people that notice any of the things you mention are the people directly involved, so that you are either preaching to the converted or banging your head against a brick wall. As far as I can see this matter is now out of our hands, although a march on the conference will be worth while just to piss em off.

It would be most interesting to see just how effective our campaign will actually be.

If the people of Lewes do support us by voting for whoever we put up on a single issue, or vote for a local person who is interested in the wider isuues of local policy.

If we stood in say Isfield ( an example I know as they may not send anyone to LDC) would the good people of Isfield give two tosses about Brighton & Hove Albion or would they prefer someone who is going to extend the opening hours of the Laughing Fish and make sure the school bus runs on time.

Whilst i am sure this is a worthy cause, i am still waiting to hear the voters of Lewes give their endorsement for us.( anyone can sign a petition)
