Is Steve Hunt the new Scott McGleish?

Presumably, I was not the only Albion fan to see Steve Hunt raise a finger to us after he scored his first penalty.

Didnt see anything like that, Steve Hunt wanted to join us and I think we all saw what we missed out on by not spending the cash.

After scoring, he ran to his right (the Albion fans' left) and raised his left index finger. It angered the fans around me. He seemed to be saying, "Number one." Perhaps the ref had told him that he was going to give Brentford four penalties and he was telling us that that was the first.

BUT, from his point of view he went out on a limb when we said we wanted him by saying his future lay with Brighton and that he was looking forward to joining us - only for Brighton to say 'sorry, we're no going to take you on and risk a whacking compensation payment.'

He doesn't know the history or the financial state of Brighton re: Falmer, etc. I imagine when we pulled out it left him in a situation where he felt pretty beseiged especially as most Brentford fans would be annoyed at some of the things he said.

not an excuse for his behaviour, just looking at how he felt about the near-transfer.

I saw him raise a finger to us but did not think it was a malicious gesture at all.

I think Hunt had a good game and is generally a good player who needs a step up, or a move to a bigger set up.

Unfair to brand him in the same league as that little fucktard McGleish.

Compared to McGleish and that twat Keane at Grimsby, it was no big deal. Judging his overall performance on Tuesday, he showed us what we've missed out on.
