We got ticket sales restricted on Sat because Man Utd fines, last season would not sit down, they blocked alleys, assaulted stewards, brokes seats etc. This cost US 100k then and 80k this season. Mn U in return have offered nothing. Did you read about this anywhere? If you haven't then it is obviously covered up. :nono:

Shut up, you whingeing little twat. At games all over the country every week people stand up in all-seated away ends. Because they want to. Man Utd have very unfairly been picked up for it for the great reason that, err, they're Man Utd and its 'news'. All clubs do it. If you don't understand why some people actually want to stand up all game away from home, you're clueless. I'd have expected better from a Charlton fan. You can't go to many away games, I bet your lot stand as well.

Of course Charlton fans sit down at all times. Have you any idea how tough it is knitting bobble hats when you're standing up?!?

One of my mates is a season ticket holder @ Fratton Park and he's gutted that away fans will be banned for both the derby games this yr.
How would we feel if the police said next season to us 'Sorry lads, no away fans at Selhurst Park and the same at the Withdean'

Has anyone else noticed the "crowd noises" on Sky TV also. If any sort of "obscene " chanting starts up eg The Referee is a W*****r, the sound either dies or they add some general cheering etc over the top.

You listen out, its very alarming.

My mate is a Leeds fan and this year he has been to all the Leeds away games and has witnessed violence at every game, including a stabbing.

Yoiu would be gutted about that, both Pompey and Saints have been waiting years for this, My sister who lives in Southampton says people have been moaning about ever since it was announced, it won't stop the trouble outside the stadiums anyway.

However can't see it happening with us and Palace as our Derby is hardly in the league as Pompey/Saints.

In London village.
Premiership hoolie definitely gets covered up. I live a few miles from WHL and have been to a lot of games there over the years. The sound of sirens after a "big" Spurs game is a fairly regular occurance.

Slightly at a tangent, but we were in Mables at Kings Cross at one point last season when a small group of Cockney Reds started planning to do us as they thought we were Arsenal fans. Clear proof that Manure are overwhelmingly thick as well as glory hunting wankers.

It doesn't suprise me as I never beleive a thing I see on tv, would be good if another company cut to the trouble apart from the disenfranchised bbc.

You only have to look at the teams in the premiership,

Man City, Birmingham, Newcastle, Man Utd, Spurs, Chelsea, Pompey now. They were all real shrinking violets in the height of hooliganism NOT. You can gloss over what is shown on TV but it will always go on.

Apparently Boro have a pretty tasty firm so Spurs probably took a right pasting.

Not surprising Goring, the amount of chemicals wafting through the air on Teeside has probably left them with a right bunch of knuckle dragging mutants as supporters. In fact that serves as a warning to our fans for next week, take your gas mask and chemical protection suit just to be on the safe side.

I think a few people could be in for a rude awakening up there if they are not careful, After the laughable antics in Colchester. If they get in trouble in Boro Colchester will seem like a day at Kindergarten.

Not a place to be lording it about with Southern accents at the best of times let alone when the footy is on.

Nothing from what i can gather but if being follwed out of a pub and being given a bit of abuse and threatened is enough to cause a big stir, then watch your back in Middlesborough hardly the nicest place at the best of times.

On a similar thread about two weeks ago,

I wrote a small thesis on action away from Highbury, when Arsenal played Man Utd at the end of last year.

The whole of Islington seemed under seige of police vans rushing absolutely everywhere.

The timing of such activity and the direction, suggested that a lot of trouble makers, could not have attended the game.

On a note relating to Dwane post. I was at Tottrnham Hale a couple of years, when some of Chelsea finest arrived for an evening "kick off".

Frightening.

A few weeks later I had a meeting with the Commander of Haringey Police Force (Tottenham) I was telling him about this event and the way we had been marched away from the Northampton ground.

He replied earlier in that season, the Met searched all Tott Hots fans going into Chelsea, they had collected axes, knives, every sharpe object possible.

Very interesting thread. Imagine the potential impact upon the game's image - could it ever again drop to its mid-80s nadir, an era when we saw the lowest gates since WW1 and seemingly-sane people could seriously suggest that American football might overtake football in popularity (in this country). Your average non-football match attending fan might feel less inclined to pay good money to watch the game if (s)he realised that little had changed on the trouble front. Remember how non-fans used to rant against football then? I remember hearing that the whole game should be banned more than once, post-Heysel, Bradford, Luton et al. Imagine that now.

I've always wondered what single factor might cause the Premiership's money bubble to burst. Maybe an envious, non Murdoch-owned newpaper (the Telegraph? Mail?) picking up on the fact that actually, the behaviour of the average football punters had actually little changed in 20 years, despite ticket prices trebling foreign stars, sushi replacing hot dogs etc etc. You might easily imagine that Sky would be very interested to keep any Premiership-related trouble under wraps.

I am seriously of the impression that the 'scene' currently is the worst I have seen since the bad days of the late 70's/early 80's. What seems to be happening is the older faces have now got their families into the teens and are coming out of retirement and mentoring the younger element. It's certainly true for us lot.

I am seeing faces on the terraces I remember from 1974 - 1978 who went quiet for a long time and have now resurfaced, bringing all their experience and bigotry back.
I have seen this year (end of last season/ beginning of this one) the red hand/uvf flag at our games for the first time since the mid 80's. Not a coincidence that several of the more extreme are now living not far from Stockport I guess.

It aint looking good for the next year or so, the only hope being that the ob are actually quite well on top and are not slow in using banning orders now.
