I'm on here lots but I can cope without it - reading what you lot write and your thoughts makes me laugh out loud a lot and sometimes that's just what I need at times - so guys - thanks for your laughs.

I am a bit worried about Uncle though - hope he's ok and it wasn't something I said!!! Perhaps he's run away with Mandy for the weekend!!

Yea loads make me laugh, usually ones who are being serious.

the only other people I know of on other forums on the interwobble that both asked for perma-bans(One almost begging) have both returned, one occaisionally and one worse than ever. The Usual reason is to help focus their minds elsewhere, ie real life. If its some sort of crisis then its in the form of an online tantrum or meltdown, so I wouldn't worry about US to much.

Awwww I hope he's ok. He sent me a PM with his name to add to Facebook and I deleted it by mistake - and never got to add him - I hope he's ok - sure he will back in time.

Why don't you just send a friend request to him on FB then ? You never know when you will need a good film/financial expert ? I for one will miss the old curmudgeon

I sincerely doubt it was you Lady Gull.

There was a thread moved to "the other stuff" about the weather thread which sort of explains why. Shame though that a) US can't stop himself from getting wound up by some clueless brainless idiots (which is actually a nice trait as it shows someone who takes things personally and seriously), and that b) the brainless idiots find it funny to continually play/wind up someone in such a way, its cruel, unnecessary and shows their (rock bottom) intelligence level. I'd call it bullying.

I have just seen in a mods permanent banning decision that it was "self - requested". Without speculating about the individual concerned does that imply that some people are addicted to posting on here and need help to stop ?

i'd say the bloke that was perma-banned was addicted rather than the mod. He was flouncing and looking for attention so badly. Who does that?

what about the part US played in actively encouraging flaming by responding?

US encouraged being flamed? Do you know US?

no.

regardless, if I let someone wind me up, and kept showing them that they are winding me up, doesn't that provide more fuel for them to wind me up even more?

Just seen the moderating decision and it's a real shame. Uncle Spielberg is one of the nicest people on NSC. I just hope he didn't take any comments too personally if someone was unpleasant to him.

If you're reading this thread, US, please come back. NSC is a poorer place without you mate.

No, I find that bizarre reasoning and I'd say that shows immaturity on your part. Move away, back down and go read something else.

Just seen the Moderating decisions.

Uncle Speilberg......the man who was Chairman of REMF for so long.....and did so much to help others.......despite difficult personal circumstances.

I have met him in the past, several times.......wonderful man. I have the utmost admiration and respect for him.

how is that bizarre? This is a web forum. As such, you'll get some people giving someone even more grief to someone else when they know the victim is being antagonised. Without fear of reprisals, naturally.

Read into Trolling.
