Either in the ' we're down anyway' camp or the ' we're still in with a chance but need new ideas' camp, would it be worth including young Kane in the squad after what appears to be a series of quietly impressive and progressive performances for the stiffs?

He plays the attacking midfield role we covert at senior level and if my perception of his progress (albeit admittedly from afar) is correct, then why the hell not I say!

I'd be curious to hear others opinions on this, especially those who occasionally get along to reserves matches.

That'll be down to the Fedex plane that decided to not land quite right and close one runway.

That's the one! Had plans to pick her up from Heathrow and even cook something in the evening on Monday.....she's missed a once in a lifetime opp there! ;)

Still.....2/3 more days of freedom.

" Ok Louis son, you're 18 now and here's your big chance. No pressure but just go out and save us from relegation."

The answer is no.

sounds very similar to when joe gatting broke into the first team

We need to try him at some point, if you're good enough, you're old enough!

Everyone has been moaning about our youth set up all season, and yet we've had Steve Cook come through and we've got Louis, Wills, Brinkhurst, Pearson, Upton, Pelling... Whether they're any good or not is another matter, but the future doesn't look as bleak as some might suggest.

Kane Louis? Wasn't he a character in Disney's "The Jungle Book"?

Pelling is too short to be a keeper.

Louis and Wills will be gone.

Pearson I thought might make it, but he is always on loan. Not overly impressed with Cook, although he can through the ball a long way.

It's too soon to say deffinitively about anyone, if you don't try them, you don't know. Bristol Rovers didn't want to try Bobby Zamora, afterall. However rare, it happens. If you don't play the youth, what do you expect of them?!

I don't think it's the right time at the moment, not ideally. But I'd rather that than sign a few more loan players who will leave again whatever happens.

It is fairly obvious with certain ones they will not make it.

The biggest issue is that at 18 we have to offer them terms or release them. At least with the big crop we brought through, we did not have to offer terms until they were 19.

However there has been very little of quality coming though the ranks. Gargan might make it, but that is about it.

The next one to watch is Ryan Thomson.

Also Zamora is a bad example on the basis he was not a youth player at Rovers and at the time they had a number of decent strikers at the club (Roberts, Ellington, Cureton etc).

Right here, right now
I saw Gargan play for Eastbourne Borough on Saturday and he was disappointing.

Early to say on Thomson, but he is very talented.

I agree that now is not the time to try him out but disagree with your other point I would sooner sign some BETTER loan players to get us out of this mess and hopefully stay up. If signing 11 loan players gets us 6 wins and keeps us up so be it, we can then look at it again during the summer after they have all gone their seperate ways but we are still in Div 1.

For what it's worth I'm not too sure that now would be the right time for Louis either, but based on my lack of having seen him much, was good to hear others' views. Cheers folks.

By the way, which position(s) does Ryan Thomson play?
