Is lack of urgency the problem?

Watching the MotD analysis of Chelsea being lacklustre....is that Brighton's current problem too?
I can't help but feel it's not that teams know how to play against us but I feel we are becoming a bit too 'comfortable'. Passing the ball around is great but we just don't have any sort of urgency, almost expecting the opposition to some how open the door at the back for us.
We have the players to turn our poor form around but I feel we just need to hurry things up a little bit on the pitch.

I certainly thought that was our problem v woking at home. We seemed to expect them to make an amateurish mistake, or just to tire, so we didn't push them enough. Not sure that it has been our problem since that match, though. While I do think, like lots of people have been saying, we have lost a little bit of confidence or swagger, I just think we're going through a period where we are struggling to finish our opportunities. Maybe that lac of finishing is related to the confidence/swagger.

Returning to MOTD and the Bolton game I think is more of the problem, Bolton were being told they were playing great football and got complacent. I reckon that's where we went wrong, after the Peterborough game when Ashley Barnes said we were virtually unbeatable. He was wrong, we need the edge, if our players assume we are unbeatable, they lose that 5% of effort that has set them apart as a team this season. Simple.

So what you're saying is, Hoof it up front?

You Sir are no wordsmith

I disagree, I think he could well be a talented wordsmith. Imagine, if you will, a steelworker of yore, starting with a large bloick of steel and an anvil. He spends hours hammering and tempering his materials, squenching ever so often, until he ends up with the end product he was looking for. Our illustrious poster could well have started with a wordsome paragraph, exploring the pros and cons of the argument, but he spent hours honing the text until he came up with the eloquent, articulate point in the negative ... or he couldn't be arsed and just typed "No".

No not at all. I actually said in the very post you quoted is that passing the ball is GOOD. I just feel we need to be making a few more forward runs. The players have become a bit static which means the right pass isn't there, which is why we are starting to hoof it up more often.

The loss of KLL is our main problem in my opnion. But we were producing quality performances even without him in the side.
Im sure its just a dip in form which we will soon come out of, generally you have a couple of these over a season.
