I feel that we do need a clear out and to bring in new faces but there are two problems.
(1) Dick Knight gave most of these players an extention to their contracts which we have to honour. They are not goping to just up and walk away as they like us have families, mortgages etc.
(2) We need to find somebody who would take the players of of our hands.

I believe that we need the Brian Clough treatment i.e right down the middle. A centralk defenmder who will ATTACK the ball and not wait for it to come to him - come back Fozzie. A central midfielder that can dictate the play - a la Brian Horton. A centre forward that can hold up play and give Leon Knight more chances as happenned at Liverpool with Toshack, the Target and Keegan tpo play off of him.

Liverpool have Rush as a goalscorer coach why can't we get shot of our coaches and employ Don Howe 1 day a week to teach our defenders how to defend in the mould which made Arsenal so difficult to beat under George Graham.

We need fresh blood, thats for sure. It's not gonna happen until the end of NEXT season though, thanks to Dicks blind loyalty last Summer. We've so much deadwood in the ranks, I can't see how we can afford to pay them up early.

Last game: Roberts, Hinshelwood, Cullip, Butters, Mayo, Hart, Carpenter, Rehman (Piercy), Yeates, McPhee, Knight.

Only 4 of those players played in thr Div 2 winning season. 7 of them hardly featured last season!

Clear out my arse! Any chance of clear in? We could do with a few faces back in the stripes.

Morgan, Lewis, Melton, Brooker, Steele, Ingimarsson, Sidwell, Barrett, Zamora..

Ah yes I remember last time we played Bristol City at home. Lee Steele rising majesticly to head home a late winner despite being five yards offside. Marvelous!

Blimey . we have a few bad games, during a change of manager I might add.......and all of a sudden you start shouting lets get rid!!
Give the lads a chance they have done well for us in the past, all they are lacking right now is confidence, coupled with having to deal with a change in style of play.......................
For gods sake keep the faith, and get behind then rather than slate them.

What they are lacking is motivation and a desire to win, Saturday and numerous other performances this season lead me to believe that too many of them have hit the comfort zone and some of them are taking the piss big time.

Change in style of play? From what to what? I haven't seen any style of play for a couple of months unless you consider this up and under tactic a style of play?

As for getting behind them-don't you think it is their turn to do something to lift OUR spirits? For the last few weeks they have been taking the piss big time and I for one ain't happy about it. I'll be there on Saturday, will be giving as much support as I can and I expect them to go out there and wipe the f***ing floor with Notts County. Not necessarily a win but 100% effort, out-running, out-tackling, out-everythinging them. Anything less will not be acceptable. A performance like Saturday's and I will boo them off the pitch for the first time (for me) in decades.

Apparently most people want a clear out but don't know who they would most like to get rid of?

For me it has got to be Watson! He has achieve nothing for 2 seasons now! GET RID!

I don't go with that. They all want to go in and they all give 100%. The problem is 'mental'. They need to overcomes this stumbiling block. They'll come out the other side a better team and we'll come from behind (traditional Brighton style eh) to take another promotion like we have before.

Has no one read my previous post? Clear out? It's a different team!

Clear it up Mc ghee.
Players that need to get out.
Mayo, Butters, Pethick, Lee, Wilkinson, Watson.
Players that need a kick up the arse and can still perform if threatened with the chop.
Jones, Carpenter, Cullip, Hart.

Keep Oatway for morale.

Totally agree, They have been taking the piss. I walked out at halftime to jibes of part time supporter etc. Yeah right. support my team home and away solid for the last 15years. I have been to Gillingham with some quality boys all of whom now find going to Withdean too expensive. And to get some family man with his kids and his woodruff house and Jaguar shout part time supporter at me made me want to kill him. I thought if the side aren't going to show any effort then I won't either. Went up the pub. Point is ive been watching some dire football in the last 20 years at the Albion but have always given 100% support and encouragement even when things were really bad. I will support as long as the team show effort. When they don't I'm off. Thankfully thats the first time I've ever had to do that. Mcghee Even questioned their commitment.
