Is it wrong that I want a Gin and Tonic now??

It's a tad warm in the office today but a lovely day and I feel that a G&T would go down really well right now. Is it too early or should I get my arse down Sainsburys for a nice big bottle of Gordons??

???

Entirely natural.

An ice cold pint of cider would be ideal right now. The way to reason it, is that there are plenty of places in the world where it is perfectly acceptable to be drinking right now.

And the fact that it's as good as 10am here, makes this one of them, IMHO.

Excellent news, Bozza.

Keep your bottle of gin in the fridge, not the freezer. Make your ice in little glass bowls; those metal and plastic ice trays are no good. Use good bottled water to make your ice. Break the ice into chunks using a sharp, pointed object, or a hammer if you have one handy.

Fill a heavy-bottomed glass with ice chunks, then pour in your chilled gin, filling the glass half way (more if you've had a bad day). Top the glass off with tonic water. Be careful when buying tonic water that it doesn't have any saccharin or, god forbid, aspartame in it. Make sure the tonic water is fresh, i.e. still has its fizz... buy tiny bottles of tonic water unless you're a full-blown alcoholic, in which case finishing a liter a day is a definite possibility.

Lastly drop a freshly cut slice or wedge of lemon or lime into the mix. Stir with something other than your finger. Wait thirty seconds and then drink. Restrain yourself from draining glass in one shot.

Isn't there a risk of shattering the glass bowl, thereby putting small, but lethal, shards of glass into your beverage?

Hey Darren...I know what you're thinking
That now's as good as any to start drinking
Hey Max...Yeah...What's it gonna be?
A gin and tonic sounds might mighty good to me

Man I know I gotta go it's the same thing every time
But I don't think another drink's gonna make me lose my mind
So I think about my next drink
And it's you and me and the bottle makes 3 tonight.

Well I know this cat named Mo. He wanders to and fro
His and my favorite waterin' hole
I said "Hey Mo, how you doing, where have you been?
He said, "I've been fine with my whiskey, wine and gin.

Man I know I gotta go it's the same thing every time
But I don't think another drink's gonna make me lose my mind
So I think about my next drink
And it's you and me and the bottle makes 3 tonight.]

From me to you, Bozza.

xx

I tend to wrap my ice up in a tea towel and smash it with the rolling pin leaving a vareity of different sized chunks of ice.

I have the day off work today and seeing as you have mentioned G&T, I think I will.

Personally, i think its aways wrong to have a G&T, but then i cant abide the the drink.

Nice glass of Southern Comfort and Lemonade with lashings of ice is the sunny day tipple for me.

Nothing wrong with starting the day with any kind of alcohol. I like a nice White Russian for breakfast (you can spice up your cornflakes by drowning them in it for a change). Finish off with a strong filter coffee and drop two tabs of acid in it instead of sugar/sweetener and you've got the start to a perfect Friday.
