Is it too early to start thinking we're going up?

I do not understand why people keep going on about "our game in hand" - it's against Newcastle for goodness sake. All we have to do is average two points a game (which we are well ahead of) and we must finish in the top two. It is almost mathematically impossible for three teams to achieve this level.

Hardly. Hudds would need 11 wins, 2 draws, 3 defeats to get to 93 (due to gd). This is worse than their previous 15 games no? Or similar...

Posted this on another thread but might be better here......
It's interesting to compare our season so far with Newcastle's promotion campaign under CH. Looking at points miliestones:
Points Newcastle Brighton
10 4 matches 7 matches (11 pts)
20 9 m (22pts) 12 m (22pts)
30 15 m 15 m (31pts)
40 19 m (42pts) 20 m (42 pts)
50 23 m 23 (51 pts)
60 30 matches 27 matches

So, we're ahead of Newcastle when they got over 100 pts. And of course this means nothing for this season, but it does suggest that CH knows how to plan a campaign (so far)

Last year we got a record number of points for 3rd place, and yet somehow the competition has got even harder:

2 M'brough 30 - 58
3 Brighton 30 - 56
4 Burnley 30 - 55
5 Derby Cun 30 - 51
6 Sheffield 30 - 50

2016-17
1 Newcastle 30 - 65
2 Brighton 30 - 64
3 Huddersfi 30 - 58
4 Reading 31 - 57
5 Leeds Utd 31 - 54
6 Sheffield 30 - 52

Dammit! Fate seems determined to screw us over. I can't even begin to imagine the lengths I am going to have to go to, to go into hiding if we don't make it up this year. Every neutral mate I know has already assumed we are up and it is KILLING me.

It's certainly not being easy on us.

Go to the lengths now to point out to your neutral friends that we're not up, we're just 6 points ahead of a team that just stuffed us and caught up 5 points in 3 games, a team that got 25 points from the last 10 games. At that rate they'd finish on 98.
