The main boots should be local ones not ours. Probably supported by Western covert special forces but that should be as far as our 'boots on the ground' goes.

Yes, but a world force not just a few nations, including Muslim countries who say that they are against these extremists.
It needs to be a fully united front shown against these barbarians.
