Is it right a teacher accepts a student on facebook?

I find it bloody weird, but this is a little bit of a different one.

I know it is not illegal for a teacher to engage in a relationship with a student if they are over 16 (should it?) but it is highly unethical from the schools and parents point of view.

But my dance teacher is younger than me, she is 19 and don't get me wrong she is urban hot but I am very mature about the situation and keep my distance whereas teachers and students shouldnt interact outside of school and all that malarky but she was a student last year on the same course and knows a few people. Not me though, I have only met her as a teacher but there are guys 16, 17 who are adding her on facebook on my course and I am not sure if this is sensible

I want some opinions please!

By the way, just because someone adds you on Facebook, it doesn't necessarily mean they want to sleep with you.

LA...wishing it was devon..
as a teacher - i never did; was always reluctant to add parents or even pupils who had left. for a start, i didnt want anyone like that knowing my business. decided to abandon fb anyway. but..do have a few colleagues who do have pupils.. older ones, ones who have left on their fb accounts. i suppose its whether it is all legit and no underlying reasons really - nothing untoward with colleagues i have; just social and mutual respect.

So she's 19 and you're older than her. I'm guessing you're not at secondary school unless you've been kept back many years (sorry if you have but congratulations for you're ability to write coherently).

Is this a private dance school?

Presumably this teacher interacts IN PERSON with the students whilst teaching them? Or is that too weird?

If this teacher wants her students to read her inane drivel on facebook, then why not.

Yes I am a performer, just finished one show last night !

Given you must be gay it shouldn't be an issue befriending a female teacher.

Now you tell us. Wish you had mentioned that earlier, would have saved a whole lot of trouble.
