Most of the squad has now been together for about 3 years or so now and have played under 5 different managers. Players I suspect do not like change and get stuck in there ways, now I beleive it is now time for McGhee to clear out and start again. the players as a team have quite simply not performed at all this season except maybe for Rushden away. With the exception of Knight, Cullip, Hart and Kuipers the rest can be on there way.
We have quality coming through the ranks now so we can build on that but those players who are not committed and do not give 100% need to go and McGhee needs to make it his team.

So my message to the first team is START PERFORMING OR F*CK OFF SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!!

Unfortunately, I agree with you. We need to get rid of all the dead wood, and re-build the team.

It also seemed as if the whole team (except Yeates and Knight) just couldn't be arsed to play.

i suppose saturday reallly sent home a big battle cry of,were just not good enough, the teams lack of commitment + overall lack luster performances came to a head on saturday!
for me the team is playin a lot worse than when we were in div 3,the defence looks a shambles+when in the last 3/4 yrs can we say that, weve always had managers who build their team around the defence, but now its just tin-pot,mayo just looks awful, week in-week out, even sir dan isnt controling like he used 2,butters is holding his own,but their does not seem 2 be any solid back four, its all over the place+himsh does not seem confident+looks out of position, their is no ingimarson that we need 2 steady the ship, moving on to the midfield,we let brooker go+think we can replace him with jones,I dont think sooo,if you lose a player of hs creativity, then we must invest to fill that position,on the right harty gives his all, altho has looked ropey lately, the centre of the park for me is one sof the most important+is bein wasted by zesh,he's defo not as good as j.lewis who incidently is settin up goals (for swindon town) the team is crying out for depth+we just dont have it, tooo many players turning up knowing the shirts gonna be on the peg, need that sidwelll or lewis, even a melton to warm the bench,we cant have marney+wilkinson+harding +pethick+piercy sittin on the bench,1 reason y,there all pants+robinson coming on,wot the fcuk is he gonna do,every1 is ravin, yes he's scored loads in youth, but this is a step 2 far for him, knight does his best up front+mcphee battles away, but need that veteran up there with knight,e.g wayne allison style of player,DICK KNIGHT GET YOUR MONEY OUT IT WILL NOT TAKE MUCH INVESTMENT TO GET THIS TEAM OUT,JUST 2/3 BIG SIGNINGS THAT WILL BREATH CONVIDENCE THROUGH THE TEAM+GET OUR CHIPPY+HARTY BACK UP 2 SCRATCH,IF NOUT IS DONT 2 BRING IN DECENT MONEY SIGNINGS THEN WE WILL ROT IN THGIS DIV WITH OUR DEAD WOOD TEAM,I HAVE CONFIDENCE IN MCGEE,BUT HE'S NO MIRACLE WORKER!
rant over!

So you want to get rid of 7 members of the first team?

All these players have done this division before and in case anyone has forgotten we were top not long ago.

They just need a hefty kick up the arse and we'll be okay.

Newbury, Berkshire.
But that's the problem, because they've won two Championships, they are ( probably ) lacking in motivation anymore, and have started to become complacent.

Maghee said, ' What I've learned so far is that this squad is not strong enough'. He has absolutely hit the nail on the head there. This squad has lost the MENTAL will to win, they may still have the ability, but they've got no incentive ( i.e. the competition for places in the team ) to show that ability.

We need more players, we need better players, we need to get some of this team out of first gear and into overdrive, and we need to get rid of those who are only good enough for 3rd division football.

We need players with a will to win.

Are you sure about those four?

Your motivation message should be directed at 3 out of those four (Knight being the exception).

Hart has been absolute pants since he came back from breaking his leg. A shadow of his former self and not worthy of his automatic selection anymore I'm afraid.

Cullip has totally lost the plot. Always out of position, gets caught out regularly and then blames everybody else for goals scored against us. He can't make even simple passes to a teammate anymore and one day his back header to the goalie trick will be punished because quite often he hasn't a clue who is behind him when he does it. Serious contender for a spell on the bench.

Kuipers? Something has gone wrong there so who's to blame? Keeley for his shit coaching (conjecture) because both keepers are a liability at the moment or Kuipers just going off the boil?

the current players cannot spend the rest of their careers living off the fact that they won two titles for us. Alex Ferguson won the double and promptly offloaded the likes of Hughes, Sharpe and Kanchelskis because he soon realised they thought they'd been there, done that and no longer had the motivation to succeed further.

I'm sorry lads, but football is about here and now, thanks for the good times but unless you get your arses into gear and stop crapping on about what an honest bunch you are (yep, Saturday was incredibly "honest" wasn't it?), you are no use to us. I don't want to watch honest players, I want to watch good ones.

Go find another club and tell their fans about your two championship medals, I'm sure they'll be thrilled to hear.

Quality:clap:

Are you on here today Charlie? Get that message back to that shambles that represented us on Saturday!

I included Hart because although playing crap at the mo, he will still run and run and run and not give up nad show he is committed, Cullip because he does have talent, he just needs to find it again, Kuipers can be a match winner. The rest have had there chance.

How long do we let them live on past glories? I think we should get shot of most of them. Unfortunately we'll have to wait for their contracts to expire as there is no money to replace them and pay them off.

Sadly I think we're stuck with this sulking team until the end of the season at least. They players know it too and I get the feeling there is a power struggle going on. I hope McGhee wins.

I understand your sentiments but in all honesty you or I could go out there and run and run and never give up like Hart-it's more a question of what type of running gets performed. Come to think of it, he doesn't really run and run like he used to does he?

Cullip does have some talent but he's not displaying it. It's a sin to have talent and not use it-cue Rehman at this point too!

Kuipers used to be a match winner-he's not any longer I'm afraid. He has always been a bit suspect in the kicking/distribution department but lately he's become a bit of a clown. Sorry! I'm a big fan of all three but they sum up what is happening to the whole team at the moment-hardly anybody worth their salaries on recent performances.

Of the current squad-

Immediate free transfers to
David Lee
Robbie Pethick (both a pointless waste of funds)

Last chance saloon
Nathan Jones
Paul Watson
Charlie Oatway when fit
Adam Virgo (where the hell is he?)

Drop to reserves as wake up call
Mayo
Cullip (controversial but he's well out of form)
Hart

Undecided about future
Butters (playing ok but no long term prospect)
Carpenter (ineffective)

Demand they stop sitting on the floor looking for free kicks
Knight

Not in my view.

Though a little fine tuning may be in order.

Keep the faith.

We're never content are we. Brooker isn't good enough so many would say. We wouldn't mind having him now would we. Rodger isn't good enough. Oatway isn't good enough. Bla bla bla.

The team is playing poorly but to just have a complete revamp is sensless imo.

Too far from the sun
edna - interesting set of decisions, most of which I agree with. The one player I felt sorry for on Saturday was Richard Carpenter. Has he upset the defence because on a number of occasions he made himself available for a simple 10-yard pass and then got neckache as the ball was hoofed over him to our towering hitman Leon Knight. I have come to expect this from Butters however Cullip and Hinshelwood were even worse. Although the only evidence I have is the LDV game against Boston, Adam El Abd could not do any worse than either of our centre halves at the moment and actually appears to know how to pass a ball. Give him a chance and give our skipper the kick up the backside he so obviously needs.

Its Butters Im telling you, he has upset the Balance of the Back 4.

Get Hinshelwood in at centre half, hes clearly playing out of position on the right and get Watson back in at right back.

Get back to the tried and trusted 4 please.

Agreed! Chippy has been getting a whole load of abuse, yet has had to run the midfield almost single handedly since SR got injured. We need to bring in someone quality to play along side him not get rid of him!
