Is it me, but why officially open "our stadium" against Spurs.

Tonight, Mr Perry was asked what was being laid on for the game against Spurs. This game should not have even been considered as the official opening.

I sensed big smile on his face mentioning soloist singer, marching bands and minutes silence for those who couldn't be there. Well here's a little shock Mr Perry, I'm still alive and saving myself for the Doncaster game as are many many fans....what plans are in place for this "The Official" day when we can truly comemerate our lost ones. You must have something up your sleeve, surely. To be fair to you as well, there were some very silly people in that audience tonight during the forum.

I thought Poyet wanted a 'business as normal' sort of day against Donny. He wants 3 points

Perhaps they want to get all the hoopla out of the way so as not to detract from the first league game of the season?

Silly old bat
Gus doesn't want anything 'ceremonial' at the Doncaster game because it is the first league game and he wants to concentrate on the game itself. Spurs was considered because Gus & Tanno played for them (there may be other reasons but I don't know of them) and they are available.

I think I read somewhere that Gus had specifically requested all that is done at the Spurs game so the team can focus on getting down to normal business against Doncaster

Yet another example of the sheer brilliance of Poyet's footballing brain

Got to agree with Poyet on this one. Mark it in your own personal way at Donny, let all the 'razzmatazz' happen at the top 6 EPL friendly

I agree too, also would Gus really want the players to play their first full game, with the crowd there to be for the points? They will at least have got that first walkout and game in front of the massive home crowd out the way. Thats not to say there are bound to be nerves at the Donny game, the atmosphere, particularly just before kick off will be out of this world!!! Personally, I can't wait for either!!!!!

I really cannot wait for this... Excited as I was at the prospect of Spurs, I'm not that fussed now - want the real action!!!. The first league game needs no extra's - It'll be massively exciting as is (although some newbies might not get it quite so much...). Any 'extras' that day would just do my head in.

You're right, I know there are threads on it but me and my mate were saying, we can just imagine, with the seconds leading up to KO, hearing 20,000 fans singing 'Brighton are back!, Brighton are back!' Next week will be the slowest week of our lives!!!!!

And one of his first ever posts was a blatant made-up lie.

What about his 15 year old son winning the monthly medal at the Dyke? Even though DGC don't allow juniors to enter medal comps, well they might do now. But they have a big emphasis on juniors competing in their own comps.
