was I the only one who read that article and thaught the Hammond was saying that he didnt think Brighton were going to get into the championship?

Edit: I think he would be a good player for a bottom of the table side, or a bench warmer for a top half club

I take it you didn't watch us the season McGhee took us down then? Carpenter and Hammond were ATROCIOUS from start to finish.

Yes I did but he did OK in the first season and I would hardly single him out as atrocious in the 2nd.

Don't know the stats, but seems to me we miss him when he's not playing.

He could easily hold down a regular place and do a job for your average team in the championship IMHO.

Hammond is clearly not Championship quality, if he did decide to go to some Championship team. Then he would be stuck in the reserves. I think Hammond is overrating himself.

If he's got any sense he'll get away from Brighton and its negative supporters.

This reminds me of the majority view of Iwelumo who is now an established championship striker.

I see no reason why not. Last time out his confidence was shattered, and he had to do the work of two with Carpenter looking well past it.

Hammond will be a big miss for us, and I think Steve Claridge is right when he says that some people won't see it until he's gone.

Despite what many on here think [or will pretend to think cos of sour grapes that he's leaving] Hammond will do well in the Championship. For the large part of his career here he has had poor players around him.

Hammond's game is based totally around the simple things - winning the ball, playing short passes, moving into space. The better his team-mates are, the easier these things become, and the better he will look.

I will go so far as to say that anyone getting him this window for £100k is getting an absolute STEAL. I just hope any deal includes a sell-on clause.
