So lets get this straight. He's going to leave Juventus, where he has a highly supportive board, where his team are on course to break the points total in Serie A and where he has one of the top 4 teams in Europe for the England job?

He's been offered the Real job and isnt interested, why on earth would he want the England job? He's not even interested in the Italy job.

You may mock but unless offered no-one knows.

Pride may take a part here, personally I think he would be tempted as it is a massive job.

Okay granted. But I think the chance of him joining England are about the same as Henry signing for Chelsea.

Be serious.

I am if you have the money which the FA do and make the right offer it could easily happen.

I think Hiddink is good at coaching a potential team we need some just to fine tune a quality team and Capello is the only one who could do this.

I agree with you on Capello, I think he is the best manager in the world. He has won countless trophies, and he has done it in Spain and even at Roma, who were nothing before he arrived.

I just think that there is no way that he would take the job, otherwise he would be linked with it surely. Also, if he doesnt want the Italian job, which is of equal stature and his own nation, why would he take the England job?

How about Paul Jewell? Hiddink has a good record. So does Capello. Sven has better record though and I don't wnat another Sven.

Let's get someone who isn't just in it for a payday. That means an Englishman in my book.

Sven doesnt have a better record than Capello. Or is that not what you mean?

My point is Sven has an excellent record, which is why he got the job.

I think we need to avoid giving it to someone just becasue they have a good record. There are other things to consider, like are they are a greedy, decietful and indiscreet worm of a man?

Yeah, it's a great record. BUT Sven had a great record too.

As far as I'm concerned any English manager is better qualified.

So Paul Jewell is better qualified than Capello ?

The problem here is we don't train a manager under an apprenticeship to be a National Manager.

The Dutch do it but we do not equip potentials like Pearce with the right training.

I would more than love an English manager but the quality is not there and more worrying won't be there for ages.

I don't know who's the better manager, but I know who has the better record.

I know who I would prefer and that's Jewell.

Basically he has a history of building strong, cohesive units, getting the most out of players and playing great football.

The exact opposite to the suicidal Swede then, sign him up :clap2:

Like we did for Sven? We paid the best, we got the best.

He went on to prove himself unpopular and most people seem glad to see the back of him.

International football isn't just about money, is it?

Sven had an excellent reputation around the world when he became England manager.

In fact, having lost so few competetive games with England, he probably still does.

He was the best at the time but was set up and I do not believe he is that unpopular.

OK money will not ensure immediate success but it is a very good starting point.
