Gordon Smith was a class player who will unfairly be remembered for one bad miss. Well, it wasn't even really a miss was it, just a lucky save? I remember a shower of coins directed at him in the mid 80s when he came down to play for Oldham and feeling very ashamed by it all.

Anyone remember Smith scoring a second half hattrick in the old, old division one to rescue a point when we were 3-0 down at hlaf time?

At Coventry.

Absolutely fabulous day out that was.

I totally agree, Gordon Smith was an absolute hero and a class player to boot!

Well have a look at at least the first page before you start a thread and certainly before you start moaning because we haven't responded to yours.

Lets be realistic, its wasnt even Farrington, as he had to play against div 1 standard opposition.

It could be 1 of many many players during the last Goldstone and Gillingham years.

Ashley Neale would be up there for sure! Who was the donkey on loan from Arsenal?

Ashley Neal is the only Albion player of whom I firmly believe we would have been better off with no-one in his place on the pitch at all. Even the dreadful Glenn Thomas didn't make clangers every single time he touched the ball. Neal did.
