Is Falmer really to blame for the departures of... Horton, Adams & Taylor and the likely departure of Coppell?

Are u telling me there is not 1 ounce of loyalty amongst these men or is DK just a shit chairman when it comes to the playing and managing side of things?

I'm not sure it's the whole story either. They all knew the situation when the took the jobk, if the lack of ground wasn't an issue then, why was it an issue later?

I'd exempt Adams from that: he stayed two and half years and then went to a Premiership club. No-one could blame him for that. It would be nice to have someone else stay one and a half years.

yes it is.

surely the question should be, 'how does dk attract so many great managers here with the shite facilities'

answer - 'he does an excellent job'

in mickey adams words dick knight : 'good as gold'

i dont think that falmer is an issue so much as the lack of training facilities. The training pitch, i believe, is comprable to a school playing field. In fact probably worse, as they go off to use Sussex uni's pitch when it gets really bad in winter.

Its tricky as we don't no knight that well and lets be honest all those managers where unemployed at the time and none of them hadn't done all that before they came to us.

They are great now but they wasn't before lets not forget!

The whole falmer thing has been going on so long that even we wonder half the time.

One thing for sure is that falmer should have been built by now as its been 6 long years.:shootself ???

Yes.
I am sure we have all taken jobs where you know that there are things that aren't perfect but you think it will be ok. You take the job for whatever reason, pays the mortgage, gotta be better than my current one etc. But after a while something better (or so it seems) comes along. You take it, and move on.
No different for Managers. Horton, Adams and now Coppell have all come here and done a job, and then been tempted elsewhere. The thing that pisses me off is that they all used the Albion to raise their profile. :(

No it's not Falmer. Since Adams departure there has been a clause in all three managers contracts (even though PT didn't sign his) that if any manager stays longer than a year his head will explode.

Too messy in the portacabin to keep them on even, though they all wanted to stay really.

None of those managers exactly arrived on the crest of a wave did they? But thanks to Dick Knight, a brilliant bunch of supporters and a good team spirit they all did well enough at Brighton to be offered other jobs by other clubs for more money.

Falmer is the ONLY reason why we can't offer them better money and prospects here at Brighton.

its all falmers fault! if we had a good ground, good facilities we'd be keeping most our managers! why wouldnt they stay if we had a good ground, great support, great history, great future! its that fuckin ground!

I think DK has to be careful this time in making sure that he does not hand the job on a plate with good get out clauses just to get a big name to please the fans. I don't know about you lot but I don't want a big name manager just for the sake of it now because we will be in the same position again next year. I know we are only a quarter through the season but surely we can accumulate enough points not to go down now so we are in a good enough position to take a gamble on a relatively unproven manager who might stay with us a bit longer.

Taylor had a reputation, after all he even managed England for one game.

Horton had been up to the Premiership with Man City.

Coppell has been in the Prem too.

When you say these managers hadn't done anything, were you comparing them to Ferguson?

Falmer is what prevents us from holding on to managers. Knight should be praised not castigated.

As long as it's not too big of a gamble. Wasn't it Millwall who went from top 4 at Christmas to relegation at the end of the season?
