It's a long time since the people of Falmer (and the surrounding villages in Lewes District) elected a Tory councillor.
If you are looking for an ulterior motive for Lib Dem politicians being anti-stadium, look no further than the fact that the locals in Falmer simply got to their elected councillor quicker than any Albion supporters did.
This then rolled forward, once the local councillor managed to persuade all of his colleagues on Lewes Council to back his "judgement".
The fact that they ALL misjudged the views of the wider electorate across the whole district is something that they've only just woken up to.
There was a good letter in the local paper from a Falmer resident. He was just fed up of all the increases in Council tax to fight the stadium. He also said he was fed up of the begging letters asking for donations to the cause.
