Mattock, Kusczak and possibly Vicente all down to wages. This is becoming a bit of a trend. Surely to succeed in this league we are going to have go that extra mile on wages to build a team to push for promotion or end up with more league 1 player punching above thier weight.

Great idea. Come on then, get your cheque book out.

Probably agent talk, Poyet keeps quiet but when things don't happen he normally comes out and says its not happening fairly quickly.

If Ipswich are prepared to pay him over the odds good luck to them, I'd rather lose out on a few players this summer like Mattock and Kuszczak than break the bank paying stupid wages

Aside from the obvious stupidity of this comment pointed out by others, so far only one of those has actually chosen another club above us.

Would be interesting to compare wage bills with Ipswich. In 2010/11 theirs was £14 million, which was double ours, but this should have narrowed due to the Albion being promoted and the additional income generated at Falmer.

To put things in context West Ham's wage bill THIS season was £33 million, which is likely to be treble that of the Albion.

All rumours I know, but... Koostark should seriously consider whether joining Ipswich is a better option than joining us... IMHO, our future prospects look much brighter than those of the Tractor Boys... if we are interested, and anywhere near matching Ipswich's alleged offer, then he should really plump for us...

We really need a pair of blue and tinted specs for when people post comments such as this.

Can we have a 'miserable git' one too then?

If you seriously think Ipswich have a brighter future than us, then you need to get a reality check...

I'm not being a MISERABALIST at all, I'm a half glass full kind of chap when it comes to the Albion. It's just that I don't see an awful lot separating Ipswich and Brighton really. Both provincial clubs not far from London, with healthy support and the potential to kick on. Obviously we have a better stadium and will average a few more at the gate next season, but I suspect our training facilities are not as good. Swings and roundabouts. I reckon it'll come down to money.
