It's 1am, and 2 and half hours after I told my son I would install the Seagulls app on his I Phone.

First problem, needs software update 3.1.1 Fair enough start to download this, takes quite a while and then freezes, everything f***ing freezes.

So I google what the problem is etc, and decide the only route is a full restore. Off we go merrily watching the f***ing bar climb slower and slower and finally crash somewhere near the end.

More googling as to why the restore did not work.

Back onto my laptop to connect and try that. Slow as shit, but finally it appears to have restored and with any luck with the updated software.

Now trying to put back all the apps (and there are a lot of them!!) onto my son's Iphone from the back up I have hopefully taken late yesterday.

About one third through them and still watching that bar creeping along. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

And the worse thing is I will probably get it in the neck from wife in the morning for staying up late surfing for porn, and from my son because something will bound to be missing or different on his IPhone.

And I STILL DON'T HAVE THE SEAGULLS APP YET!!!!!!! :tantrum::tantrum::tantrum:

If he's not old enough to know how to put the apps on himself, surely he's not old enough to have an iPhone?

when i installed the software update it took a good 2 hours from start to finish. That mat explain your freezing.

He can download the apps no problem but this was a software update which is needed before you can download a number of apps.

All sorted now though and he downloaded the seagulls app this morning. It had better be worth the effort.

Right here, right now
How often do you connect the phone to Itunes? I do mine once every week to 10 days and any updates are done then. Saves hassle when installing new apps that need the latest updates to run.

Hope this helps!

Alternatively, have you tried tuning it off and then back................I guess you have!

That's exactly the problem, it was so far behind that it took ages. Will make sure he regularly updates from now on though.

Ive not connected mine to itunes in months, probally nearer a year.

When i went into the apple store for a new back cover as mine was cracked, (can't buy them i was told). he went on to tell be about "itunes" when i he saw my blank expression he asked how often i connected to itunes, told him , when i bought it as per instructions, but not since, said i should be conecting to intunes at least once a week

why ? he couldn't give me a valid reason as why i should just, "there might be some updates"

If you were to lose your phone, if you sync'd regularly, at least you'll have all the data backed up.

Just to add to this palava, i installed this app a couple of days ago, and when i try and watch any highlights, be it on 3G or Wi-Fi, the video just loads and loads for minutes and nothing ever happens! £4.99 for that!
